c. Wardrobe interviewsTo understand the role and function of clothing in everyday life, I use wardrobe interviews as a method to grasp the richness and complexity of individual dress practices (Skjold, 2016). A material approach centred around the wardrobe, dress habits, garments and the wearer, I see wardrobes as containers that represent one’s practice and values. By writing and speaking from the centre of garments and wearers, wardrobe interviews present the banality of clothing oneself alongside the awe and spectacle that “ordinary” clothing contain and evoke.
